Nishchay Maken

Co-Founder & Director

Nishchay co-founded Pelagic Marine to tackle operational challenges that most firms cannot, using engineering and design. With more than two decades of experience, including over a decade at sea on tankers, he specialises in project cargo carriage and stability. That work inspired UMISTAB-X, a specialised loadicator that performs stability calculations for deck loading on conventional bulk carriers. His wider expertise spans clean fuels, regulatory compliance, audits and inspections, loss prevention, and incident investigation for leading P&I Clubs.

Bhanu Prabhakar

Co-Founder & Head of Engineering and Design

A Naval Architect with 20 years across offshore structures and seagoing vessels, Bhanu leads Pelagic Marine's design and engineering practice. A graduate of IIT Kharagpur in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, his core strengths lie in structural and finite-element analysis, intact and damage stability, hydrodynamics, mooring analysis and CFD.

Vinod Janardanan

Director, Pelagic Singapore

Vinod leads Pelagic's Singapore office. He is a Naval Architect with an MBA in General Management and has worked in the marine and offshore sector for over 40 years.

Before joining Pelagic, Vinod was Director, South Asia Zone at Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore, the consulting arm of Bureau Veritas. In that role he led BV’s consulting business across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

At Pelagic, Vinod leads the Group's growth across Southeast Asia and Oceania. He brings experience across the maritime spectrum having worked for a Ship owner, class society and shipyards. He brings class-society depth, ship owner agility and shipyard resilience in forging regional client relationships which would drive Pelagic's naval architecture, engineering analysis and marine assurance services.

Capt. Vipul Negi

General Manager

A Master Mariner and an expert in chemical cargo handling, Capt. Negi brings more than two decades across the marine and petrochemical industries. He leads the firm's inspection and survey work — including pre-CDI inspections, condition and pre-purchase surveys, and damage and P&I claim surveys — together with ISM, ISPS and MLC audits.

Capt. Abhinav Upadhyay

Principal Consultant | Clean Fuels & Gas Carriers

A Master Mariner with over twenty years in gas-carrier operations, Capt. Upadhyay is Pelagic Marine's specialist in clean and future fuels. He brings hands-on cargo experience across LNG, LPG, ethane, ethylene and ammonia, and advises on emerging fuels including methanol.

Capt. Harjit Singh Sidhu

Operations Manager

Capt. Sidhu brings a container-shipping background and sea time with Maersk to his role managing Pelagic Marine's operations and day-to-day delivery. He advises on container-ship stability, cargo planning and load optimisation, and is a certified practitioner of remote magnetic compass adjustment.

Anubhav Panwar

Digital Solutions & Applications Developer

Anubhav Panwar is a technology professional with a Master of Computer Applications and experience in mobile application development, web technologies and digital solutions. He specialises in Flutter and Dart development, API and database integration, website management and digital platforms.

At Pelagic Marine, Anubhav supports the development and management of digital products, web platforms and technology-enabled solutions, contributing to the company’s ongoing digital transformation and development of innovative solutions for the maritime industry.
